With a click of your mouse you are connected to so many Jewish Dating – On-line sites. How do you decide which is right for you? Research, try them, ask questions. Look at what they provide, do you want a matchmaker and have the personal touch, or do you want to do your own searches? Matchmaker’s may not send you matches daily, but it is more on quality then quantity. Having a matchmaker, they will also speak with you to get a better idea of who you are, and what you are looking for. They will also be there for questions, and dating advise

I’m curious- do you find Jewish Dating/Singles events helpful or worthwhile?  I’ve heard mixed feedback from my members/friends.  Some people say many of the events they attend have the same people, and they find it frustrating.  I would argue that you never know who you’re going to meet- and it only takes that one person who decided at the last minute to attend- to make the event worth your while.  A close friend of mine met his girlfriend at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, NY.  Another former member met her husband at a weekend Jewish singles getaway.  What other types of events have you found?

You meet someone, and really get along..then he/she tells you that they are divorced and maybe even with children. Do you continue to see this person? I am sure you will. So if that is the case, when someone suggests a match with someone who is divorced/with children, next time maybe consider it. You have to be open to everything and anyone. Your “ideal” match MAY be out there, but probably not..so be more open

We have to strive to find ways for Jews to meet? Jewish Dating. Are we looking in the wrong places to meet. We have to go out, use on-line services, community activities, singles vacations, and through friends and family. We have to be proactive and creative.

Yes dating is frustrating, but don’t give up. The alternative is being alone, and that is probably alot more difficult to go through. Look at all the options and resources out there, and network.

Dating may not be fun, but if you want to meet there is no other way. So look at it as another one of your life’s challenges, it is difficult, frustrating, but in the end when you do meet your future partner the rewards are there.

When you meet someone, how will you know if this is the right person for you?

Is there something concrete that you are looking for or is it that intangible something – like you’ll know it when you see it?

If it’s so unknown, how will you be able to spot it?

After an informal poll of my married friends and former members, they often tell me that when they first met their spouse there was something special about the person they ultimately married, but that they didn’t necessarily know it when they first met.

Asking my single friends and members the same question, and they seemed sure they would know it when they saw it.  What do you think?  I welcome your feedback on this important topic.

If you have been fixed up, either through friends, family or even on-line. Once phone numbers have been exchanged, please contact the person promptly. Work, and personal excuses, are just that excuses…if you are serious about dating then you have to make some efforts. How many times during the day to you speak to you friends and family? Take the time to call and if you can’t meet for a long date, then a cup of coffee will be good to start.

Sometimes you have to be more open when someone makes a suggestion for you.
